Me and My Dog in Pilsen
by Elyssa
It’s a sunny weekend
and I’m with my father
his new pitbull puppy, Luna.
I lean against the wall
Then I smell it,
baking bread
A wonderful aroma.
A man sells food in a small cart,
children are playing,
I see beautiful graffitti art.
I look down at Luna’s
black and white
face.
I love my Luna
People around us do too,
they are petting her
She’s the bow WOW!
My fathers comes
we walk home
with the scent of baking bread
following us.
We Are All Human
by Evana
We are all human.
one leg,
one arm,
one eye,
one heart.
No matter what, we are all the same.
We are all Human
dark skin,
light skin,
medium skin
Who ever said a Negro couldn’t play ball?
We are all human
glasses,
skinny legs,
smart answers,
all me should be created equal,
as said in the Declaration
we should ALL be free.
We are ALL human.
